OUR BACKGROUND

Helping Canadians access the financing they need

Neighbourhood was born out of a single-family investment office in 2015. The principles on which Neighbourhood was founded remain true today: providing accessible mortgage financing solutions for Canadian homeowners while generating stable returns for investors.

We noticed that many Canadians were being left behind by the inflexible mortgage landscape dominated by banks. The economy was changing but the rules weren’t. So that’s our niche: providing access to mortgage financing to those who are temporarily outside of the bank lending space. Gig economy workers, entrepreneurs, life events, bridging transactions, and other transitions — wherever you’re at, we’ve got you.

At Neighbourhood, we are nimble. Constantly evolving to make sure we are providing solutions that address the needs of the market. We are data-driven, energetic, fuelled by ambition and obsessed with customer service. We love diving into the details to understand how we can do better. Our work will never be done, and that inspires us.
